An Excerpt from Chapter 15
Law Enforcement Involvement
Sheriff Tietz had several run-ins with the County Commissioners about some of Kathleen Morris's abuses. However, Commissioners William Koniarski, Anthony (Tony) Worm, Dick Mertz, Mark Stromwall, and Roland Boegeman were supportive of County Attorney Morris–recklessly approving any funding she requested. Rather than listening to Sheriff Tietz, they kowtowed to Morris. Sheriff Tietz has good reason to despise the 1984 County Commissioners.
A retired deputy sheriff who wants to remain anonymous said, "The Sheriff's Department in 1984 was made up of wussies and pussies. Tietz didn't let Morris crap all over him. He stood up to her, but he was the Lone Ranger."
